Romantic Weekend Breaks in England

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, a celebration or simply just wanting to get the hell out of the house… you deserve nothing but pure cosy-ness and romance on your weekend away with your loved one.

England is FULL of incredible places to visit, from tiny quaint and quirky towns, to stunning coastlines and beaches. It has a bit of everything for everyone and personally, we sometimes take this for granted.

So, without further ado, here are our top 10 romantic weekend breaks in England, for you and your partner to escape in 2020!

Go on… treat yourself.

Romantic Windsor Country House

This property just has the wow factor from the very start! Nestled in the Windsor countryside with stunning antique French beams, making it a perfect romantic getaway from the modern life.

Hollowcombe Cottage

Quiet and peaceful. The best two words when going away for the weekend. Topped off with a log burner and private garden, this is your romantic home away from home with everything you need.

Glamorous London Penthouse

Something for those of you who already live in the countryside and are craving a bit of buzz from the city life. This sleek and modern penthouse may just be the luxury break you need together, with lots of natural sunlight so you can both unwind.

The Daffodil Hotel & Spa

Just wow. Now this is somewhere we wouldn’t mind going! This is the perfect place for a spa retreat with your partner, situated between the towering mountains and beautiful lakes. Enjoy a dip in the pool, a relaxing massage or a romantic afternoon tea outdoors…

Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa

Another incredible spa break with stunning attention to detail to make your trip as romantic as it can be. Bathtubs in the bedroom are always a lovely touch, and if the spa isn’t your cup of tea either, you can try your hand at shooting or archery! You definitely won’t get bored here.

De Vere Tortworth Court

A gorgeous, historic Gothic mansion sitting on the Cotswold Edge – a Grade II listed building. This whole property shouts luxury and romance, from the small twinklings lights in the trees, to the charm in the carefully decorated bedrooms. Relax in the spa or sauna, or stroll together through the 30 acres of gardens.

Woodlakes Park Lodge

Your own little private nature retreat! This is personally something we would love – away from everyone else, right in the heart of nature with the simplicity of just having the necessities and each others company. Switch off from the outside world, and spend some quality time together in this stunning setting (in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly of course).

Cosy Converted Shipping Container

airbnb plus

So… for those of you have read this far (thank you!). You get some insider info, as this is where Luke and I will be staying this year for our 6 year anniversary (20-22 Feb)! As you know, we love shutting off from the outside world when we go on romantic trips, so this is just THE perfect place.

It looks super cosy and even has a log burner, which is a result considering the current bloody weather situation. We will write up a review after our stay, so if you like the look of this for 2020 then keep an eye out for the blog post! We will also put a couple of videos up on our Instagram to show you around once we arrive.

Tree House

airbnb plus

A unique and quirky stay for a lovely little weekend break with your loved one. It’s not every day you can say you stayed in a tree house (a bit of a relief that it’s not actually hanging out of a tree…). This place is decorated with lots of love and care, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere for your stay.

Salt Cabin by the Sea

airbnb plus

Now I don’t know about you, but being by the ocean just makes me feel lots of incredible little fuzzy feelings, and you can’t get any closer to the ocean than this. What an absolute dream. This is the perfect private getaway for couples who love falling asleep to the sound of water!

Well there you have it, our top 10 romantic weekend breaks in England! We wish you the best of luck trying to choose from all these beautiful stays… we just want to stay in all of them!!
So sit back, put your feet up, relax and enjoy each other’s company in 2020.
All the best

      Hey Jake 🙂
Most definitely, it’s the memories that we will always cherish, and I think a trip to one of these places will be very memorable for sure. We got back from our stay at the shipping container last week, and it was absolutely amazing!

Oh my goodness! These places are ah-mazing.

I definitely gravitate towards the ones with a water view. Woodlakes Park Lodge and the Salt Cabin by the Sea are just spectacular. Elegant and romantic. But also a little rustic and homey which is just my style.

I’m way over in the US but have a BFF in Scotland and have been planning a visit. Any fave spots in Scotland I can’t miss? Thank you!

Yesss we definitely love the ones with the water nearby, just makes in 10x better! We have only been to Scotland once, but absolutely fell in love with Oban and the harbour! From what you’ve just said, I think you’ll love it as a lot of the accommodation is right on the water, and it’s such a cute and quaint town 🙂

Usually when we are thinking of travel we begin by looking at attractions.  Your site has put that idea high on our priority list.  We will be doing some research to help us figure out where to go, but these places will form the focal points for our research not points of interest.  Thanks for the article.

I just loved all these options. It’s so hard to make up my mind for one in particular. I take my camera with me were ever I go. I’m a photographer and my wife is OK with me taking my camera around. Besides having some days away for ourselves, I like to immortalize them in pictures. And looking at all these options and which would give us the best vibes and the best pictures… I think we finally made up our mind for De Vere Tortworth Court.

Whenever I find time in the workspace I go out for a walk. My wife and I love visiting the most favorite thing. We stayed at The Daffodil Hotel & Spa last week. It is a wonderful place surrounded by mountains and lakes also. I sat outside with my wife and had tea in the afternoon. My wife was very happy to see the beautiful atmosphere of this hotel. This beautiful atmosphere still hangs from my head. So my wife and I want to go back to that place again. I will share your article on social media with my beautiful experience so that more people can get around the place.
