If you’re truly looking for an adventure holiday and you can feel the thrill-seeker coming out in you, then this section is just for you! Here are 3 incredible experiences that will leave your body tingling and your mind buzzing! You can choose between a couple of activities for a weekend, or go all out and do all of them if you’re planning a longer trip!
Zip World in Snowdonia National Park is home to Zip World Velocity 2, the fastest zip-line in the world and the longest in Europe! Can you brave it? We DEFINITELY would, just for the experience and to say we’ve done it. This is something for the bucket list that you don’t want to miss if you visit Wales.
If you actually check out the Zip World website, they also have a bunch of other epic activities to do! There is something to fill your whole week or weekend trip just with this one company.
If the fastest zip-line in the world wasn’t enough, try bouncing your way around on trampolines UNDERGROUND in a cave, or navigate your way around the underground obstacle course with even more zip-lines. Just think Go Ape, but in a cave!
This epic mountaineering adventure is hosted by a very trusted 5 star company called Bearded Men Adventures, who have some fantastic reviews and great professional knowledge of the outdoors!
If you’re feeling super crazy and adventurous, you can spend a second day canyoning with the same company! If you’re not sure what canyoning is, just think water, helmets, ropes, plunging and navigating through rock formations! Definitely something to get your blood pumping and to push the boundaries, creating a trip to remember for a lifetime.
Where to stay during your adventure weekend
We are about to share with you 3 properties which are all located bang in the middle of Gwydir Forest Park in Snowdonia National park, which are all roughly a 10 minute drive to the departure point for the Mountaineering activity, and a 45 minute drive to the departure point for the canyoning activity.
You are pretty much perfectly situated to be able to drive to the activities and also be in the heart of the park to be surrounded by nature!
A stunning, luxurious and modern hotel located near the main road for easy access and the Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, but also just minutes away from country roads, lakes and rivers.
Something a lot more remote, romantic and cosy! This private lodge is nestled in the trees with a private hot tub on the decking! Definitely something that will be much needed to relax your muscles after your days hiking and swimming.
If you’re looking for somewhere to call home for your adventure weekend then this is the perfect place. Right by the river with incredible scenic views! A relaxing garden to sit in and super cosy interior to make you feel right at home.

Self-Guided Waterfalls Walk and Stunning Mountain Hike in the Brecon Beacons – Wales
Now this second option for an adventure trip is a guide completely curated by us at ROUND THE WORLD WITH US. This is a trip we have personally been on ourselves and some epic locations we have explored first hand! It is by far one of our favourite adventure trips in the UK to date and we’re so excited to share it with you.
We had two perfect days in the Brecon Beacons, spending our time chasing waterfalls, exploring forests, climbing mountain peaks and photographing huge lakes!
Two Day Itinerary – Perfect for an adventure weekend
Day 1 – Hiking around Llyn Y Fan Fach Lake and the surrounding areas.
This is something we done on day one and isn’t something you want to rush. With the scenic drives, an inevitable couple of stops for photos and the walk to the peak itself, time definitely passes by quickly! So make sure to give yourself most of the day to enjoy this at a leisurely pace and even stop at the foot of the mountains for a picnic.
Once you reach the “Llyn Y Fan Fach Car Park” you have the most beautiful scenic walk up to the Black Mountain Range peaks and lake itself, which can take 15 minutes, or in our case 30 minutes plus with slow strolls and all the photo taking!
On the way up, you can find this beautiful stream and several small waterfalls (pictured below) and a couple of small lakes and hills, until you see the main, giant mountain peaks slowly start to appear over the horizon.
Once you reach the Lake, you will be blown away by the sheer beauty of it and the towering mountains over the top of you! The feeling cannot be beaten. You can then enjoy some time or a picnic by the lake and the alluring storm shelter that stands alone. If you’re up for the main hike, you can find the trail around the right-hand-side of the lake, leading all the way up to the top of the mountains which can go on for miles!
Day 2 – Hiking the 4 Waterfalls Walk
This is another full day filled with stunning scenery with riverside, woodland walks and even a cave. Not to mention the 4 huge raging waterfalls that are hard to believe are in the UK!
This hike has less altitude than hiking up and around Llyn Y Fan Fach but can definitely be longer in distance, depending on which trails you take. If you’re going all the way to the 4th and largest fall (and back), then you’re looking at approx. a 3.2 mile round trip (minimum). Of course, occasionally veering off for the other 11 waterfalls along the way is going to up your step count for sure!
Where to stay for your Brecon Beacons Adventure
We personally couldn’t have stayed in a more perfect place! We were in a private annex/loft in the middle of a quiet, peaceful farm, with little interaction with the host (which is what we mostly prefer).
This is where we stayed and somewhere we highly recommend! The place was so private, clean, quiet and cosy with stunning views of the farm and horses. There is even an arctic cabin for BBQ’s whatever the weather. Not to mention the cute farm doggo Oscar that comes along with it!

Go Ape Treetop Adventure, Water Sports and Hiking – Scotland
Scotland is famous for its natural beauty and world-class scenery, making it the perfect location for an adventure trip within the UK! After all, “adventure trips” are known for being extremely outdoorsy, just how we like it! So this location cannot be beaten.
So, here are our top things to do during your adventure trip, featuring the epic Go Ape Treetop Adventure (which we LOVED doing), Go Country Water Sports and of course some spectacular accommodation to make your trip one to remember.
We’re Obviously Heading Straight for the Trossachs!
Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is Scotland’s huge and most charming National Park, so of course we’re going to send you there of all places. There are SO many things to see and do in the area as it’s so big, but we’re going to name a couple of our favourite things here!
If you’re all about having fun and love being in the trees, then you will LOVE this! We visited Go Ape in Woburn a few years back and have never forgotten the amazing experience.
Climb high in the trees, work your way up ladders, scurry across ropes and sail down zip lines! Such an exhilarating and fun day out and there’s no better place than to do that right in the heart of Scotland.
Stunning Hikes in the Trossachs
Conic Hill: A quick hike for an epic view
Glen Ogle Trail: A historic route with stunning viaduct
A scenic stroll around Lake Katrine
Three Lochs Forest Drive – you don’t even have to leave your car for the epic views!
Where to stay on your Scottish adventure trip
So for your trip to Scotland we are sharing 4 beautiful places to stay which will make your stay extra special, 2 of them being hotels and 2 of them being the most stunning Airbnb’s!
This stunning riverside hotel and resort is only 6 miles away from the foot of Ben Lomond. With a spa, swimming pool and an on-site activity centre, this is the perfect hub for your trip to relax and unwind after your days out.
A beautiful, traditional Inn full of character! What we love about this stay is the on-site restaurant, bar, lounge and sun terrace to really make you feel at home! They also offer bike rentals which would be perfect to explore the local parts of the park. This is also a more affordable option for the budget traveller.
This Airbnb is like something out of a rom-com movie! Absolutely breath-taking, nestled peacefully in the heart of the forest surrounded by nothing but nature. It also couldn’t be more of a perfect place to relax after your activities with the fresh, modern and homey interior and fireplace.
I’m sorry, but nothing screams Scotland more than staying in a bloody castle! This Airbnb consists of the whole west wing of the castle with tastefully decorated rooms. You can find 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a very spacious, open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. Not to mention the 80 acres of secluded, scenic estate to explore. So much room for activities!
Water Sports right by your accommodation
Go Country Watersports is located right on the edge of Loch Ard, where the water sports take place, which is right in front of the Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Resort that we have recommended! Killing two birds with one stone.
Go Country offer tonnes of exciting water activities to choose from and even dry adventure activities if you don’t fancy getting wet;
